I'm not 100 percent sure I remember most of this week. You see, I'm not a medicine taker. It's just not something that comes naturally. Most days my tough-girl attitude partners with my unmatched-by-most stubbornness and there's not another option but to lay low and ride it out.
However, which ever debilitating bug took over of my body this week had me fending off tears of frustration. That's right, tears.
I don't know what's happening to this girl.
My amazing roommate dodged golf ball sized hail to bring home medicine and a year's supply of Gatorade.
Then the magic happened. It was like a throw back to the early 90's when Sonic the Hedgehog overtook my Sega Genesis. My entire body was in a fuzzy bubble and I was unstoppable.
This is when I curled up in cocoon of blankets in the hallway clutching my Gatorade while insisting Courtney put on jeans instead of shorts because the tornado sirens had in fact gone off and Gary had advised we seek shelter.
*Note. There really were tornadoes and hail in Oklahoma this week. This was not a figment of my cold medicine induced imagination.
This is also when I pouted about being in the 405 dodging tornadoes and fighting an awful summer cold instead of being on the beach, but that's another story entirely.
I had text and phone conversations under this spell. Honestly, I shouldn't admit this, but it's just too funny not to. Each morning, under a fog of cold medicine I checked my phone to see what damage had been done. Thankfully, I'm pretty sure I kept it together.
My lovely Southern Roommate was the perfect girl to put up with me this week. When I busted out of my room Friday morning proclaiming "It's a Christmas Miracle!" she didn't bat an eyelash. She sighed knowing I was back to my ridiculous self and the house was once again going to be too loud and too messy.
