Some of my earliest memories are of eating apple slices and oranges at my Granny’s house while plopped in front of Nick Jr.
My great-grandma was a central-Indiana Golden Girl – stubborn and ornery. She coated those apple and orange slices with so much sugar my nap time was not just off the table – it wasn’t even in the house anymore.
It’s interesting how as life throws an avalanche of changes, we, as humans, venture back to the things that make us feel the most at home.
After school work, you can find this twenty-something girl plopped in front of the television with apple slices and chunky peanut butter. Unfortunately, I don’t have Nick Jr. to entertain me this days, but you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll find the LEGO movie or Full House reruns.
